💻 About the Role

Blenheim Chalcot is hiring Senior / Lead Engineers to design, build and scale robust, production-grade data and platform systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role where successful candidates will own complex problem areas end-to-end, influence system architecture, mentor engineers and deliver scalable solutions in a product-led environment.

The role involves collaboration with Product, Data and Engineering teams across Mumbai and London.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers.
• Plan and execute engineering projects aligned with business objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements.
• Implement and maintain ELT processes using scalable pipelines and data architecture.
• Ensure data integrity and quality across different data sources.
• Support data-driven decision-making using clean and reliable data.
• Design and maintain data models used by ML Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and trends.
• Identify opportunities for process and engineering improvements.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies and engineering best practices.

🎯 Ideal Candidate

• Professional experience in full-stack software engineering with experience architecting and delivering production systems at scale.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving code quality standards.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with services such as AWS S3, Redshift, Glue, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse.
• Experience with CI/CD practices for data solutions.
• Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude.
• Experience building AI-enabled features including LLMs, automation workflows and prompt engineering.
• Ability to take ownership of complex data projects and drive them through completion.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous and problem-solving environments.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership and collaboration skills.
